Essex Spartans lost their second game and first game on the road to London Olympians. The score was heavy with another game without any points on the board but a strong Olympians offence powered through to another win, their fourth in succession.

Spartans started with the ball but could not get the first down. The home side scored on their first possession to end the first quarter 6-0 up after running in for the opening touchdown.

In the second quarter Spartans couldn’t get do anything with their possession and punted back to the Olympians. From the punt the home side made it 13-0 with a punt return. From the kick off things got worse for Spartans as they lost possession with a defensive touchdown after getting to the 36 yard line. The half ended very badly with Olympians scoring another touchdown after their quarter back’s pass was tipped but picked up by a receiver and ran in from 26 yards to end the half 27-0.

The second half almost started terribly for Spartans as they saw a kick off return of 75 yards and a touchdown but it would be ruled out for a penalty on the 30 yard line. The third quarter however was better from the visitors who gained their first down.

The fourth quarter was also another good half for the away side as they gained another two first downs. The second coming after a sack which looked to have slowed down their progress. The run didn’t last long though as a pass was picked off and run down for another touchdown. With time running out the Spartans pushed on trying to get their first points of the season but again a long pass was picked off with the clock running down and ran in to finish the game 46-0 to the Olympians.

It has been a difficult start to the season for Spartans playing probably the two hardest games in the schedule but can look forward to getting points on the board and some numbers under the W in the table starting with this Sunday’s home game against the Maidstone Pumas.
