The Spartans have continued their off-season activities by thanking the official sponsors of their home kit and hosting a successful movie screening.
The Spartans, based in Billericay, are proud to have their black home shirts sponsored exclusively by the Thurrock Lakeside branch of Ed’s Easy Diner, and to thank them for their support, the team presented Ed’s with a framed team jersey.
“The continued support of Ed’s Easy Diner is very much appreciated and we are looking forward to seeing the jersey on display in their Lakeside branch”, said Spartans media manager Steve Watson. “2012 is the first year of the partnership between the two organisations, and we look forward to working together to further promote both the Spartans, and Ed’s Easy Diner”.
Watson, along with Spartans General Manager Tony Palmer, visited Ed’s Easy Diner and presented the framed shirt to branch manager Zoe Knowles-Rolf and members of her team. The number 28 shirt, the number worn by Palmer during his playing days, will be displayed at the Lakeside branch in due course.
The Spartans also held an exclusive screening of the documentary film “Undefeated”, in association with Dogwoof. The screening, held at the teams home ground of Hannakins Farm, was a great success and was enjoyed by all who attended.
“Dogwoof presented us with an opportunity to continue to promote American football in Essex with this screening, and we were overjoyed with the attendance”, said Watson. “We’d like to thank all the team at Hannakins, in particular Nikki Harvey, the centre manager, and Sharon Davis, the centre administrator, for all their help in making the Undefeated screening such a success.”
The Spartans will soon be holding player trials for anyone interested in joining the team for their 2013 campaign. Anyone interested should monitor this website, our Facebook page, and our Twitter account for more details nearer the time.
