Defensive Back

Craig Brittney was inducted into the Spartans Hall of Fame in 2013.

Starting his career with the Southend Sabres youth team, Brittney won a National title before moving to the Basildon Chiefs, where he began as a defensive back. Shortly into his Chiefs career, he earnt the nickname "Taz", and quickly became a key member of a dominant defence.

During his time with the Chiefs and Spartans, Craig played in various positions, but always wore the number 2 jersey, making it a jersey that opposing offenses did their best to avoid!

After retiring as a player, Craig stepped into the Spartans coaching ranks, before work commitments meant he sadly needed to step away from the team in 2011.

Thanks for the memories, Taz - hope to see you on the sidelines again soon!
